US stock market closed lower, Dow Jones down 1.63%

At the close on the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones fell 1.63%, the S&P 500 fell 1.65%, and the NASDAQ Composite index fell 1.60%.

Procter & Gamble Company was the leading gainer among the components of the Dow Jones in today's trading, shedding 0.09 points (0.06%) to close at 143.99. Coca-Cola Co fell 0.27 points (0.45%) to close at 60.05. Microsoft Corporation lost 0.54% or 1.49 points to close at 272.29.

The least gainers were Nike Inc, which shed 6.11 points or 4.86% to end the session at 119.50. Boeing Co was up 4.17% or 8.54 points to close at 196.16, while Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc was down 3.10% or 1.04 points to close at 32. ,50.

Leading gainers among the S&P 500 index components in today's trading were Match Group Inc, which rose 2.27% to 39.22, Advanced Micro Devices Inc, which gained 1.72% to close at 97.58. as well as shares of NVIDIA Corporation, which rose 1.03% to close the session at 264.68.

The least gainers were First Republic Bank, which fell 15.85% to close at 13.27. Shares of Comerica Inc lost 8.45% to end the session at 44.52. Quotes Lincoln National Corporation fell in price by 7.90% to 20.75.

The leading performers in the NASDAQ Composite Index today were Maxpro Capital Acquisition Corp, which rose 56.84% to 13.88, Lixiang Education Holding Co Ltd, which gained 35.14% to close at 1. 00, as well as EZGO Technologies Ltd, which rose 33.65% to end the session at 1.41.

The least gainers were shares of Qutoutiao Inc, which fell 38.43% to close at 0.18. Shares of Color Star Technology Co Ltd shed 36.48% to end the session at 1.55. Meihua International Medical Technologies Co Ltd fell 33.60% to 8.20.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the number of securities that fell in price (2236) exceeded the number of those that closed in positive territory (747), while quotes of 113 shares remained virtually unchanged. On the NASDAQ stock exchange, 2,699 stocks fell, 934 rose, and 146 remained at the previous close.

The CBOE Volatility Index, which is based on S&P 500 options trading, rose 4.12% to 22.26.

Gold Futures for April delivery added 1.66%, or 32.20, to $1.00 a troy ounce. In other commodities, WTI crude for May delivery rose 0.36%, or 0.25, to $69.92 a barrel. Futures for Brent oil for May delivery fell 0.04%, or 0.03, to $75.78 a barrel.

Meanwhile, in the forex market, the EUR/USD pair remained unchanged 0.04% to 1.09, while USD/JPY fell 0.02% to hit 131.41.

Futures on the USD index fell 0.69% to 102.18.
